MULTI-DIMENSIONAL BODYWORK
Inspired by both Eastern and Western forms of Massage, subtle levels of energetic techniques work simultaneously with more physical aspects of Manual Therapy. A thorough intake and assessment will dictate how the treatment will go and what techniques will be used. I believe that in a session, when the client is an active participant, healing can be exponential. So when appropriate, Muscle Energy Technique, simple guided imagery, guided meditation or breathing techniques may be integrated. I might also suggest simple yoga or qigong exercises that pertain to a particular condition for the client to practice at home.
Hendrickson Method Advanced Practitioner
Hendrickson Method is an advanced system of massage and manual therapy that is profoundly relaxing to receive , effortless to perform, and an efficient and effective treatment for acute and chronic pain.
At the heart of his unique system of treatment is a new technique for mobilizing soft tissue modeled on ocean waves and grounded in essential Tai Chi principles of energy healing. Dr. Hendrickson calls it Wave Mobilization.
Hendrickson Method includes specific protocols for treating acute and chronic joint problems that are efficient and effective in reducing pain and restoring normal movement.
Another integral modality used by Hendrickson Method Practitioners is Muscle Energy Technique (MET), which addresses the nervous system. By having clients actively resist gentle, strategic applications of pressure, practitioners promote the rehabilitation of malfunctioning nerves. MET also helps strengthen weak muscles, eliminates trigger points, relaxes chronically tight muscles, and improves the range of motion of joints.
Reiki
Reiki therapy is based on an Eastern belief that vital energy flows through your body. The idea is that a Reiki practitioner uses gentle touch -- or places their hands just above your body -- to help guide this energy in a way that promotes balance and healing. With focused intention, this healing current is accessed and channeled throughout a manual therapy session. Distance healing sessions are also available.
Thai Massage
Thai Massage is relatively new in the west, but it was actually developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand as a healing modality 2,500 years ago. Thia massage uses passive stretching and deep but gentle pressure along the body's energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance the body's energy system.
CranioSacral Therapy
CST is a gentle hands on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological system called the crainosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release
The Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release approach is a form of soft tissure therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and resulting pain and restriction of motion. It is a treatment which uses continual palpatory feedback to achieve release of myofascial tissue. This is proposed to be accomplished by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying fascia.
